Design

Our approach to design is simple: we start with understanding your needs. We then look at how you and your community plan to use your outdoor space and begin crafting a design framework, using sustainable practices to achieve those goals. You can anticipate a finished landscape that functionally responds to our shared vision, while complimenting the surrounding environment.

SOFTSCAPES

Softscapes refer to the organic or living elements that make up your outdoor environment, such as flowers, grass, and trees. Softscapes can accentuate the overall character of your home and business, while also serving as an energy-efficient source of shade. We incorporate native plants into every design, making your landscape more sustainable through drought-tolerant and disease-resistant vegetation that flourishes in varied soil types.

Other softscape features may include:

Plantings that highlight all-season color, brightening your space year-round as well as proper placement can significantly increase a home’s energy efficiency through strategic shading

Irrigation, maximizing water efficiency and leading to a 30% water bill savings, on average

Energy-efficient lighting, extending the use of your outdoor space into the night through thoughtfully illuminated, low-voltage fixtures, increasing security, safety, and atmosphere

Rain gardens, which keep rainwater runoff away from impervious areas such as driveways, and compacted lawn areas, and optimize water retention while blending your existing environment with native plantings

HARDSCAPES

Hardscapes make up the non-living components of landscape design – think walks and pathways, stone walls, patios, and wooden arbors. When combined with natural elements and native plantings, they serve as a functional, not to mention beautiful, part of your outdoor space. We work with a variety of materials, from eco-pavers and wood, to flagstone and boulders, creating endless design possibilities.

Some of our hardscape offerings include:

Driveways, flagstone patios and brick paving, to connect you to all of your outdoor spaces

Retaining walls, a functional and attractive solution to unstable and sloped terrains, preventing soil erosion and landslides

Fire pits and fireplaces, a beautiful focal point that lends warmth and ambiance to your landscape while creating a natural gathering spot for socializing and relaxation

Outdoor kitchens, the perfect setting for entertaining guests or grilling outdoors in the warmer months

Shoreline protection, a solution to decrease or eliminate coastal erosion
